Carrie Johnson is Chickasaw and Pawnee from southern Oklahoma. Carrie Johnson is currently a graduate student at New York University for her MA in News and Documentary on a full ride scholarship from the Indigenous Journalists Association. She graduated from Austin College, a small, liberal arts college in Sherman, Texas with a BA in both English and Media Studies and was Captain of the college softball team. Carrie is an award-winning journalist, aspiring filmmaker and plans to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. She is Chickasaw, Pawnee and Choctaw and originally from Oklahoma.
